bMW Brake Fluid Service
Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture as it ages. That moisture can lower the fluid’s boiling point, contribute to corrosion inside the hydraulic system, and reduce braking consistency under heat.
BMW commonly recommends brake fluid service on a time-based interval rather than mileage alone. For most vehicles, every 2 years is a good baseline, with more frequent service reasonable for cars that see aggressive or track use.
The right fluid depends on how the car is used. Daily-driven BMWs may be best served by BMW-approved fluid, while enthusiast or track-driven cars may benefit from a higher-temperature performance fluid chosen for the car and driving conditions.
Meister Werks provides BMW brake fluid service for daily drivers, BMW M cars, enthusiast vehicles, and cars that see occasional track use. We use fluid appropriate for the vehicle and how it’s actually driven.
